Back from Louisiana/Thanks Greg Dini! Images by Jan Maizler

In Greg's able hands, we were able to release 14 redfish up to 30 pounds and a black drum pushing 25 pounds in two half-day trips- all this in very cloudy, poor spotting weather.

I've never seen redfish in such numbers, nor have I seen them strike with such unpressured aggression.

This great trip will be featured as an upcoming article in CyberAngler.

Tarpon Still Going Strong!

Since the bulk of the frontal trough passed through Florida leaving calm water and cloudy skies, I ventured forth in search of the silver king. I love calm water that's over 75 degrees under dull skies, since I feel that tarpon are ultimately a low-light fish..a bit like seatrout.

Everything was just right and the action was outstanding...and will be if you know just the right places to suit the conditions!

Tarpon in Regalia!

Slight warming trend after the front and seasonal regularity put the tarpon right where I expected.

Results for three hours- 2 strikes, 2 jumped, 1 30-pounder released.
