In Trinidad and Fishing The Bocas...

It's been good to get back to Trinidad. This time it was to give the tarpon fishing in the Bocas a try. I understood from my captain, Danny Agostini, that the Trinidad Tarpon Bash tournament is no longer. He stated it was replaced by the TDC of T/T (Trinidad and Tobago) and is called Tarpon Thunder. We are staying at The Crews Inn in the northwest point of Chaguaramas (www.crewsinn.com ).

Though Art Blank and I were not part of the tournament, there were many boats in the Bocas. We have fished the last 1 and 1/2 days and have been in the midst of a low point in silver king action. I did manage a 50-pounder, which was a thrill to catch alongside the lush mountains! All of us that pursue tarpon know them to be unpredictable at times.

When we did not fish in the middays, we explored the Asa Wright Nature Center, and of course the growing and charming preservation district.

For now, thanks to...
