While the oldest marlin record in these waters was 467-pounds, history was made by the capture of a huge 700-plus pound Atlantic blue marlin. It was only two hours into the tournament at 8:30 a.m. when the Mad Max team of Captain Gary McLaughlin, Pasquale Paonessa, Robert Van De Ber, Claudio Miconi, “Luis” and Riccardo Gomez hooked the monster.
