Hello from Tybee Island, Georgia

Not fishing yet, but a ride through historic Savannah got things started. On Tybee Island, we made it to the Sundae Cafe for organic salads, and fresh fried crab cake and oyster sandwiches topped off with a sinful pecan pie.

Right now as the sun is setting, the power-drone of the cicadas is creating a vast electric umbrella above us paired with some vastly more quiet-for now-upward mushrooming cumulonimbus clouds. I'm told by a certain island expert that the frogs take over at sunset peep-peeping their way through the night. It's all part of life on Tybee, a friendly southern spec of a sandspit compared to and engulfed by the vast oceans of marsh grass and muddy channels that surround us. This place just screams redfish, flounder, crab and shrimp!

I love Savannah, GA and Tybee Island is beautiful even though it is hell hot in August.
